As we’ve said before, one of the advantages of planning a destination wedding is that you can enjoy your ceremony and honeymoon in the same place. Of course, we believe that the islands are the ideal spot for a romantic honeymoon, and we can help our clients create custom honeymoon and wedding packages in Maui, Hawaii.
While you can certainly spend your days lounging on the beach followed by a spectacular dinner by sunset, there’s so much to do in Maui that your honeymoon also can be filled with unique and interesting activities. Not only can we create wedding packages in Maui, Hawaii, we can also point you in the direction of a few interesting excursions.
The Road To Hana
This is an all-day event and you can drive it yourself or take a guided tour. Technically, the road to this quaint little town is only about 52 miles long, but the road isn’t exactly an 8-lane highway. Prepare for hairpin turns and tiny one-lane bridges (56 one-lane bridges in all) and plenty of stops along the way where you can hike to spectacular waterfalls or enjoy scenic ocean vistas. We recommend bringing plenty of bottled water as well as a picnic lunch as there aren’t cafes or restaurants along the way. Many of our clients who book wedding packages in Maui, Hawaii, spend a day of their honeymoon enjoying this journey.
While many states boast an abundance of wonderful wineries, few of them boast the views that you will find at Ulupalakua Winery. The drive along Highway 37 is almost reason enough to visit the winery, but the chance to sample unique pineapple wine is certainly another reason to go. If just the two of you are heading over for a tour and tasting, reservations are not necessary, but this can be an excellent excursion for you and your wedding guests. For parties of 10 or more, it’s recommended that you call and make reservations and set up a private tour.
Ka’anapali Coffee Farm
Not only is this a great excursion, this coffee farm can be an option to consider for your ceremony when booking wedding packages in Maui, Hawaii. Many of our clients opt for a ceremony at Ka’anapali which boasts sweeping ocean views and it’s just a few minutes from Lahaina. Hawaii is the only state where coffee is grown, and this state produces some of the best coffee in the world. You can drive up to enjoy the view and grab a cup of fantastic coffee or stay longer and take a tour of the farm.
Sunrise at Haleakala
We’ve definitely mentioned this one in previous articles, but it truly deserves a second mention. While you have to get up well before the crack of dawn in order to reach the top of Haleakala before sunset, it’s all going to be worth it as you watch the sun rise over the world’s largest dormant volcano and enjoy unparalleled views of Maui and beyond. You can actually get married atop Haleakala, if you like, and we can create custom wedding packages in Maui, Hawaii that include this option.
Sunset Dinner Cruises
After you enjoy sunrise at the top of Haleakala and perhaps spend the day relaxing on the beach or perhaps by the pool at your hotel or resort, the best way to end the day might just be a sunset cruise. There are dinner cruises where you enjoy the sunset, views of the Maui shoreline and a full dinner, as well as cocktail sunset cruises with freshly prepared drinks and an assortment of appetizers. There are quite a few different options and we can give you a few recommendations when we are discussing your wedding plans.
